d.velop goes digital!
On May 12th 2020 the annual d.velop forum should take place in Berlin as a face-to-face event. Due to the corona crisis however the d.velop AG had to strike new paths. Thus, the company switched to a completely digital concept and organized a virtual event under the motto “We are doing it digital! More than 1,500 participants followed this call and, with a large majority using the Mobile Event App to participate interactively in the virtual event.
The d.velop forum is the largest digitization congress of the DACH region in the office sector. Among other things, it shows how digitization in companies can look like in concrete terms. Besides live keynotes, there were also pitches on new solutions by d.velop. The core of the event are the customer presentations of solutions that are currently in active use, such as the introduction of a document management system at Knauf Interfer this year.
Event app features in action
The mobile event app serves as the platform of the virtual event and acts as a link between guest and organizer. The main focus of the d.velop forum 2020 was on the live stream via YouTube. Here the respective keynote speeches and pitches took place. Via the event app, users could then rate them or ask audience questions.
For the presentation of Rainer Hehmann, participants were able to ask questions directly to the d.velop CTO. In addition, 11 sessions took place in parallel, in which one could exchange experiences with the various d.velop industry experts in live meetings. For this purpose, a special page was created on which, besides various explanations, the appropriate links to the meeting could be found.
Also displayed within the app were participant and speaker lists. This made it possible for the guests of the event to find and connect each other quickly in order to initiate contact. Or they could directly obtain information about the speaker of a lecture they just watched. A list of sponsors, who sometimes make such events possible in the first place, was also included. The integration of social media, via a Twitter Wall, complemented the interactive app use.
Follow-up via app
But even after the live stream came to an end, the virtual event did not stop! Because for the follow-up of the d.velop forum 2020, the mobile event app was also used again. By creating a feedback survey, the organizers wanted to find out more about the impressions of the participants in order to optimally prepare for the next project. Because the next d.velop forum is already on the way!
