Version 2.88 of the Mobile Event App brings a host of improvements and new functions that will make your day-to-day work easier and further increase user-friendliness. Particularly noteworthy are the introduction of a welcome video for participants, the standardised ‘Selection’ question type in the registration area and numerous usability improvements in various modules. Whether it’s better organisation, new interaction options or optimised processes – this update makes your app even more powerful and flexible. Read on to find out more about the details of the latest features!

registr – Event welcome video

Another highlight of version 2.88 concerns our guest management tool registr: A new option has been integrated here to welcome participants individually when they enter an event. Organisers can now upload a welcome video in the CMS of the registr settings, which is displayed to guests as a pop-up when they first enter the event. The video is also stored under the event information on the left-hand side so that it can be viewed again at any time.

To make the video more appealing, there is also a new option to upload a preview image. This image is displayed in advance and invites guests to play the video. The use of the preview image is optional, but should ideally have the same aspect ratio as the video to ensure an optimal display. All common image formats such as JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIFs are supported.

With this new feature, you can not only give your participants a more personalised welcome, but also present important information in an eye-catching way right from the start.

registr – Updates to questionnaires

Another extensive update in version 2.88 concerns the surveys in the registration area. The previously available question types – Single Choice, Multiple Choice, Dropdown and Contingent – have been merged into a new, universal question type called ‘Selection’. This change makes configuration easier and also extends the range of functions.

When updating to the new version, existing questions are automatically adapted: The previous question types are transferred to the new selection question type, whereby the original settings for display and selection type are retained. This means that no manual changes are necessary and the existing surveys continue to work as usual.

Additional configuration options for the selection questions are also new:

    • Display options
You can now choose between checkboxes or drop-down menus.
    • Selection type
You can specify whether the selection is single (single choice) or multiple (multiple choice).
    • Contingent option
Regardless of the new settings, a quota can be stored – now also for drop-down and multiple choice questions.
    • Deselectability of options
Guests can always reset their selection in the frontend. This means that an additional ‘No selection’ option is no longer required.
    • ‘Total contingent’
A new function makes it possible to define a common quota for a question, in which all answers are added together. For example, organisers who want to give away 50 T-shirts can let guests choose their preferred size via the same question, with all sizes being deducted from the total quota.

There are also some improvements to the user experience:

    • The mandatory field asterisk is now placed directly next to the respective question to make it more visible.
    • Above the ‘Participate’ button, guests receive an overview of mandatory fields that have not been completed. When clicking on it, these are highlighted and the view automatically scrolls to the first unanswered question.

These comprehensive changes not only make the surveys more powerful, but also more user-friendly – for organisers and participants alike.

Further innovations

In addition, version 2.88 brings several practical optimisations for various areas of the app.

    • Audience questions
In the agenda list, both in the event itself and in the moderation area, the time of the respective block is now also displayed. In addition, only events with the audience questions option activated are displayed correctly, which improves clarity.
    • Quiz export
Time information is now also available in the personalised export of quiz data. It is listed when the quiz was answered and how long it took – in seconds. If there is only one question, the duration is 0 seconds, as no further answers are required.
    • Register usability
To avoid accidental multiple clicks, the ‘Participate/Update’ button is deactivated during the enquiry. This ensures a smoother user experience.

These additions will make handling in various areas of the app even more intuitive and informative.
